Actor-producer Rana Daggubati has extended an apology for his recent statement, which inadvertently led to online trolling and negativity directed towards actress Sonam Kapoor. The statement, seemingly directed towards an unnamed ‘big Bollywood heroine,’ raised eyebrows as it hinted at an incident involving Dulquer Salmaan on a film set. Given that Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan collaborated on the 2019 film “The Zoya Factor,” speculations began circulating. In response, Rana has taken it upon himself to address the situation and offer clarity via a public apology on his Twitter account.
In his tweet on Monday, Rana Naidu expressed his concern about the negative repercussions Sonam Kapoor faced due to his comments. He candidly clarified that his words were taken out of context and meant to be lighthearted banter. He wrote, “I am genuinely troubled by the negativity that has been aimed at Sonam due to my comments, that are totally untrue and were meant entirely in a light-hearted manner. As friends, we often exchange playful banter, and I deeply regret that my words have been misinterpreted.”
Rana’s sincerity was further evident as he seized the opportunity to personally convey his apologies to both Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan, individuals he holds in high regard. “I take this opportunity to express my heartfelt apologies to Sonam and Dulquer, both of whom I hold in great esteem,” he wrote. Seeking resolution and an end to any lingering misunderstandings, Rana concluded, “I hope this clarification puts an end to any speculation and misunderstanding. Thank you for your understanding.” His gesture reflects his commitment to rectifying the situation and maintaining a respectful relationship with his colleagues.
